The green to yellow-gold quickly transitioned throat expands via ridges that reach out to the ends of the petal in some instances. Placed on top of orange yellow crepe patterns that form perpendicular to the ridges, the appearance is massively relieved, even more so when attention is focused on the sepals which are also creped. Add transitioning white mid-ridge daggers on the petals, some fluting and ruffling on both petals and sepals, and a gold edge on a 7 inch flower, and you have a fairy tale engraved daylily. Expensive Invitation gets it's name from the first and last name of its parents. Pod and pollen fertile.
