EVENING EMBERS

When the fire glows at night, the wood chunks develop a central bright orange glow surounded by a darker orange while the outer edge becomes a white ash.  The petals and sepals of this day lily mimics those colors while reminding me of a melting orange ice cream popsiccle .  The yellow gold throat is present on the sepals as well and fades to ash colored daggers on the mid-ridge of each petal.  The edge bears several ruffles and flutes encompasing both the white ash and orange regions while dark orange veins are present on both petals and sepals.
